For a traditional table plan, you will want to include a top table. Depending on your family makeup, the head table is usually reserved for the happy couple, along with their parents, the best man and the maid of honour. You will then want to assign other family members and friends to the remaining tables. Usually, round tables are designed to fit 8 to 10 people so be sure to check with your venue for maximum numbers. Seat your closest family members closest to the head table and then work out from there. You can either keep families together or mix everyone up so that they get to know each other better. Just make sure that where possible, everyone is sitting with at least one person they know to make conversation easier! There are no hard and fast rules so just do what you feel most comfortable with.
