Right from when Rosemood first launched over 10 years ago, we have been on a mission to make a positive impact on our planet. Our focus on helping you immortalise life’s precious moments is complemented by our commitment to doing so in a responsible and sustainable manner. While everyone can make a positive difference to our environment, we believe that companies should use their brand to do good and set an example through their practices and products. With Christmas celebrated every year by billions of people, it is a fantastic place to start when implementing new ways to protect and preserve our environment. We are constantly improving how we work and these are just some of the ways in which we ensure our Christmas cards are eco-friendly.
Recycled paper
For years, our range of recyclable Christmas cards has included... every single one of our designs. That’s right – all our Christmas cards are recyclable! And we are now proud to have expanded our selection of papers available for you to choose from when creating your personalised Christmas cards to include recycled paper. This unique paper is made of recycled fibres (80%) to give you rustic, textured Christmas cards with a natural finish. Recognition for our dedication to the environment
Atelier Rosemood has been recognised by Imprim’Vert for its commitment to respecting the environment. This confirms that we responsibly sort our waste, avoid using any toxic chemicals and include education on the importance of conserving our environment in our employee training. What’s more, we offer tips to our customers on what they can do to help and how to create the most eco-friendly Christmas cards.
As well as having a recycled paper option, all the papers we use in our Christmas cards are FSC-certified, so you can create sustainable Christmas cards whichever paper texture or finish you choose.
Renewable energy and carbon emission offsetting
Another advantage of printing your Christmas cards with Rosemood is that all the energy used to create them is green! We have chosen to purchase renewable energy generated by wind turbines, solar panels and through hydroelectricity to power the Rosemood atelier so that we can operate in accordance with our values.
Every year since 2016, we have calculated our carbon emissions and neutralised them by donating to an ecological program chosen by our employees. This organisation combats deforestation in the Congo by planting trees to replace those felled, as well as supporting local communities financially to help them educate future generations on the environment through building schools.
What can you do to help us?
There are a few easy ways to make a change to help the environment, all related to your Christmas card habits. Begin by sourcing your Christmas cards from socially conscious companies like Rosemood, and opt for cards that are recyclable and/or made from recycled paper. When the twelve days of Christmas have passed, be sure to recycle your old Christmas cards or consider repurposing them first to turn them into something new! Perhaps the most powerful step you can take of all is to share your new Christmas card commitment to the environment with your family and friends, so that they too may become more conscious consumers.
